May 25 - Gibraltar

WOW!!  We came into port and from our balcony we enjoyed seeing this incredible Iberian Peninsula.  Gibraltar is the narrow neck that separates Europe from Africa.  The place where the Atlantic Ocean meets Mediterranean Sea.

We were told about the Barbary Macaques (the only wild apes found in Europe) - to be careful that they will bite and that they should not be feed.   Well Elizabeth found one that became her friend and later David's!  What fun!!!

We toured the Tunnel Tour from Disney. We saw a small portion of the  30 miles of tunnels that conceal everything from fancy staterooms to soldiers' barracks from World War II. They were originally carved out to defend Gibraltar from invasion from the mainland during the Great Siege of 1779. Today, they're a popular and unique tourist attraction.

We had an incredible tour guide that was so kind.  He took us all over the city and shared lots of personal stories.

From this site you can see both Africa and Europe!  Very cool

We found an awesome playground!!!
